True love

This article is pretty amazing:
Mother saves children from blaze

See, kid? All that "boring nutrition stuff" is just your mom showing she loves you. And she's brave when it matters. (This story actually made me tear up.)

In other news... I am sort of ridiculously excited. I am getting a new cell phone today, an LG CU500. I want to publicly state that I do really like my current phone, a Nokia 3120, and that it is still functioning just fine. It's just, we're out of contract, and this phone is on a great sale right now, and... and... it's got a camera and a color front screen (as well as the regular screen) and an mp3 player... and, see, I've sorta been eyeing one of the new iPod nanos, and this will save me paying $190 for one of THOSE on top of a cell phone. Thank you, Bryon, for pointing this out. I'm happy to note that it's on a buy one get one free deal, and that I will still gladly hold onto my 3120 as a backup, just in case. Whee! Prepare for crappy keitai photos, as the Japanese would say (although honestly... this thing's got a 2+ megapixel camera in it, so I think they'll be decent enough).

And! I miraculously found a memory card for it, a 1 GB Micro SD card, on eBay for $33.95 including shipping. These babies are $80 everywhere else. Woot! This is why eBay is a happy place.
