Serika is the daughter of the wealthy Kurusugawa family, which owns many companies (most notably Kurusugawa Electronics, which built both Multi [HMX-12] and Serio [HMX-13]). Her personality is that of a very traditional Japanese girl: very polite, very restrained, and very quiet. In fact, Serika is so quiet that we hear only the slightest whisper when she speaks, and we only know what she says because Hiroyuki repeats it. ^_^;

As a third-year high school student, Serika is about to graduate. This makes her possibly the oldest of the girls in the series. While her quiet nature appears to have prevented her from making friends in the past, Hiroyuki's willingness to help and Akari's friendliness overcome her shyness (not that she gets any louder...). ^_^ As (I believe) the only member of the school's Occult Research Club, Serika-sempai practices witchcraft, casting spells and performing occult rituals. While this might seem a little odd to the average viewer (and to Akari and Hiro as well), Shiho claims that quiet, traditional daughters of wealthy Japanese families quite often have strange hobbies. I guess we'll just take her word on that. ^_~

Serika-sempai may be wealthy but she's not a snob. Her quiet, slightly eccentric ways make her an intriguing addition to the series.
